Is there any books you have read or films watched that really either made you think or affected your views in some way..even help you relate to?
Films so far that I feel express either who I am or what I feel:
Vera Drake...again northern england & about the lives during that period.
Kess...touching & raw North of England film
broke back mountain...excellent challenge for peoples ways of thinking..especially men
palindromes...have you seen this disturbine & weird film?
I would love to have other film or book recommendations off other people, its that time of the year, the beginning of winter when we need some reading material in front of us, as well as a good film.

Wed, December 20, 2006 - 5:04 PMThe Glass Bead game by Hermman Hesse, I suppose, as it opened up a desire to retreat fron the world and immerse myself in a life of "ideas".
The New Buddhism by David Brazier had the opposite effect as it made me want to be more engaged in the world in a way which was positive for others.
When I read The Tousand Petalled Lotus by Sangarakshita it made me realize that even in our modern world (the 20th century then, not so modern now) it was possible for a western man to live a spiritual life.
