In debth article. I''m not a scientist but i can think concepturally and often have and still do about such topics from a more humanistic point of view.

I see man as inherently caught up in his body. He still sees with the 'body's eyes' instead of with the spirit. He is still afraid of enemies within and enemies without. And he is ready and poised to kill all the aliens and monsters in his dreams, the ones he himself created.

there is alwaye the 'purer' in german psychology too immature to make real human contact, a character in King Arthur who must find the special sword of healing. Scientists often love themselves and the vast purity of their own mind vistas. how else could so many intelligent people be so ready and willing to give up their senses forever to live on dusty terrains in cumbersume suits etcetc.

Something is wrong down here . There are too many people too many possibillities and relationships go on the brink. Inner space cultivation would be a good thing. A really food thing and i am ready to give my wholehearted backing and support (if i only had money) for its development. I wish I could sound more convincing.

Why not start teaching it in schools right now? because I think all our teaching methods and expectations of children need to change in order for their mind sto develop properly in conjunction with their own inner reality and inner space. No, our system warps space in order to teach minds and as soon as we let them go the elastic stretches and pops like a balloon.

There is a lot of material on aliens ..the Roswell incident and our governments cooperation more like blackmail of them. Aliens from what i have heard do not seem to be bad or harm intending intelligences rather they are horrified or terrified or disgusted with our barbaric ways and wooden minds.

We cannot take care of our own planet yet tobegin to think of going out there to harvesr barren inhospitable space. We are destroying the beauty and the whole food chain.
there is also some documentation about mars that in fact it is already inhabited by some ( Im not sure what) living in a substation way below ground. And from Vielokofsky's 'Earth in Collision" I believe him and that there once was life on both Venus and mars and that they colloided and there were other solar accidents . in fact he traces this time to the 'manna from heaven' that fell to the ground from the carbon. this sounds like all hype and speculation but this is what my little mind that forgets all details very quickly, but it was all on Art Bell and also in another publication which I can find and wil post here, that we will neve r get to mars that 'they' do not want us there. And that there is life on oher planets . And that uranus i believe is more inhabitable.

Any way it is always more likely that americans will kill anything unlike themselves than that they will kill us. they do not use weapons.

i need tofind my sources and will post again later.

But thanks george D for sparking this conversation and for bringing us your website.

Some 20 or 30 years ago, I might have reacted differently to the title of this thread. Now, however, I must agree. Of course, the fact that we will be exploring "inner" worlds long after space has become boring, does not mean that we will do no space exploring. I rather feel that man, in his present bodies, will go little beyond the solar system but will send who knows what out into the Universe to explore, be they robots, nano-observers, AI or his own disembodied minds. This will not be the primary drive of our race though, but may be done as an afterthought.

Mary Anne, your letter goes off in 16 different directions at once. You proclaim all space to be barren and inhospitable, then speak of aliens' impressions of mankind. Where do these aliens come from in -barren- space? You've got these pitiful "scientists" living in special suits to survive without the slightest idea what worlds lie in the almost infinite number of galaxies in this Universe. The wisest man on Earth hasn't the faintest idea about what's out there and you know far less than he. It is very likely that worlds far more beautiful than Earth abound in our huge Universe.

I dont agree. I donot think and I will say I know therer is no other planet in the solar system or cosmos or universe as beautiful as life supporting as Earth.

It is hard to understand that there are so many people lacking in basic intuitive skills who just want to imagine something more beaurifl on the other side of the fence. My scatter brain words are only that because i do not keep facts in my head and so in speaking to an audience I dont quite know how to present the info I have from all my sources.
Call it a gut feeling. I had a very powerful upheaval or revelation about it years ago. maybe I was searching for something else too, i dont know but i realized so deeply that earth is IT.
I spent one year staying up all night listening to an all night radio program about aliens, ghosts, crop circles, afterlife, reverse engineering, egypt and so on. I bought some of the tapes and a publication . From all the people who have been abducted or claim to have made contact say with the Paladians ....no i do not know where they live ...way out on some star they all regard earth as a phenomenal planet with barbarians living on it. They try to help. Apparently these aliens and there are different 'sect' or natuionalities are having a problem breeding. So they are trying o breed with us or gather certain types of information to help them do so. And this involves the many cases of csttle mutilations.
There was also a colonel or major in the army involved in the roswell incident who actually saw the alien and knows what happened. In fact we learned a lot of technology from them re telecommunications, night vision, etc. They never speak about what their own planet or star is like. there is also Ed Dames who teaches remote vision and has worked with the army.

But then there is the urantia Book which does.
I am the feeling intuitive type ...toal humanities with conceptual thinking. I have no interest in going to mars or anywhere else. after the tribulation you can leave me here and i will have all this beauty hopefully with a few others. men want war and men want challenge and space seems to be offering it to them now. they can pump up and prepare for harvesring asteroids thinking they are protecting earth. According to the 'aliens. though we are going through an asteroid belt the earth is safe ,that is what they know and i believe them. You think that is stupid and i think it is smart. Also what will cahnge according to them is the moon. Apparently they have the ability to move the moon around to where they want it. i do not know why or remember. I'd have to order more articles from that particular publishing house. It is supposed to happen in about 50 years. There are a lot of upheavals going to happen in the next 15 years or maybe after 15 years. i ll look up that publisher and post it so you can go there yourself. i am sure it is on the web.
If we did take the time to be more comfortable with our inner worlds swe might become as highly developed as there othere friendlier and gentler higher minded 'people'.
how are you planning to live on mars? in your jeans and tee shirt? It is all dust up there. maybe underground about 20mmiles they have some hydroponic tomatoes and some alternative light. I supposes it is enoigh to share their great intellects with one another.
there is no other planet in the universe that we as a species will be able to bresth on. yes, sgain according to urantia there is another planet much like ours in historical and social development but they have one head with two brains and are built a little differently. They cannot survive here. yet they too have souls and spirits.

        Get that aliens with souls.

I am wise and I do know and I am a woman.

Sorry, Mary Anne, but "gut feeling" and "revelation" are not valid tools for universe exploring. Niether I, nor you, nor any other being on this planet, or possibly any other planet in this galaxy, has the slightest idea of what all the other untold trillions of planets in our little corner of the universe are like.

I don't WANT to imagine anything better than Earth but am not foolish enough to believe that what I want or don't want will affect the contents of the Universe by one speck of dust! It is possible that the Earth is the best and most beautiful of all worlds but it seems so unlikely as to be ridiculous. The Universe may well contain trillions of trillions of planets. On top of this, what is the most beautiful planet in the Universe, if we could observe them all, would boil down to a matter of personal taste so no arguement could be won! So we really should discuss a far more productive subject, like how many angels can dance on the head of a pin!

It is not wise to keep all of your eggs in one basket, especially with all the rocks circling the sun. The survival of the human race, our culture, and indeed the "seeds" of earth's ecosystem mandates the colonization of space.

I will not be happy about our chances of survival as a species until there is a self-sufficient human colony on Mars.
